In Loving Memory of
Colleen Hill (née Johnson)
1961 ~ 2023
Obituary of Colleen Hill (née Johnson)
After a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer, Colleen (Johnson) Hill passed away peacefully in her home in the early morning of August 30, 2023, with her family by her side.Born October 31, 1961 in Brantford Ontario to John Harold Johnson and Joan Bennett (Cobb) Johnson, Colleen was the youngest of eight children. She was predeceased by her parents and her brother Dave Johnson.
She is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Warren Hill, and her children Nicholus (Megan), Jesse and Amanda (Max). Beloved grandma of Colsen, Deon, Jacob, Jaxx, Odin and CeeBella. Colleen will be lovingly remembered by her siblings Pam (Al), Julie (Dave), Kathy (Thomas), Barry (Terrie), and Brenda. Having been so close to Warren's family over the years she will also be greatly missed by Warren's family Rosilyn (William), Dwayne (Trudie), Cam (Lisa), Terry (Kevin), and Jeff (Georgina). Aunt Colleen will be forever cherished by her many nieces and nephews.
Colleen and Warren raised their children in the Fort Erie area and despite having a variety of professions over the course of her life, they eventually became business owners of an established catering company. It was through this business venture that she found purpose and passion. Colleen loved getting to meet new people and make new friends everywhere they went. Her friendly nature was unmatched as she could strike up a conversation with anyone and make them smile or laugh almost effortlessly. Colleen made many life-long friends on their repeated trips to Marea del Portillo, Cuba. Colleen treasured their trips to Cuba so dearly, and it will always hold a special place in our hearts for that reason.
For all that had the pleasure of knowing Colleen, whether it was as a coworker or a member of the many dart leagues she played in, she will be dearly missed for her kind heart and warm smile.
In keeping with Colleen's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life to honour Colleen's memory will be held on Sunday, September 17th, from 2-5pm at the Niagara Regional Native Centre, 382 Airport Rd, Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON.
"Gone from us that smiling face,
The cheerful pleasant ways,
The heart that won so many friends,
In bygone, happy days,
A life made beautiful by kindly deeds,
A helping hand for others' needs,
To a beautiful life,
Comes a happy end,
She died as she lived,
Everyone's friend."

Our deepest condolences to Warren and all the family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. We had the pleasure of meeting Warren and Colleen, although for only one season her at Maitland Shores, Colleen’s smile and enthusiasm to help out whereever she could left a lasting and cherished impression on many. Rest in Peace, Colleen and know you left loving footprints in all our hearts.
My heart breaks so much loosing a life time friend. We lived on the same street growing up. Her mom knew my mom. Also her mom hung out with my daughters grandma. She was always so pleasant. She never talks bad about anyone always looks at the good. Never once complained about being sick. Colleen thank you for being my beautiful friend. Love you
Sending my deepest condolences and safe coping to Colleen’s family and loved ones at this time of grieving. Although I never got the chance to meet Colleen, I have been very fortunate to have her beautiful daughter Amanda as a close friend for a number of years now; she raised an incredible human being that I love very much. I know if Colleen was anything like her daughter, I would have loved her just as much.❤️
Sorry for your loss
