Obituary of Cheri Beth Forshner (nee Mason)

Passed away on December 16, 2022 at the age of 68. Loving mother to Carla Forshner and David (Tiffany) Forshner. Cheri will also be missed by her former spouse, William (Bill) Forshner. Cherished Nana to Briar and Griffin. Much loved sister to Diane (Ward) Partridge and Brian (Penny) Mason. Also fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Cheri was predeceased by her parents, Alvin & Davina Mason, her brother Craig Mason and half-brother Clifford Mason.

Cheri was born in Merritton on December 10, 1954. Anyone who knew Cheri could attest to how passionate she was about education and teaching. She taught English for many years, loved word games and tutoring. In her spare time, she enjoyed watching baseball (especially the Blue Jays!), playing cards and spending time with her grandchildren. Cheri will be remembered for her easy going nature. She was always cheerful and rarely seen without a smile on her face. She will be truly missed by those lucky to have known her.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff at Royal Rose Place and the Niagara Health System for their care and compassion. In keeping with Cheri's wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of her life will be held in the springtime.

We aware so very sorry and wish we could help take the pain away ❤️ This qoute has been racing around in my head these past few days “You may be gone from my sight, but you are never gone from my heart.’ Winnie the Pooh. Although we meant years ago I am certainly glad of our reconnection! Enjoyed our chats a lot. ♥️♥️????

So very sorry to hear of Cheri’s passing. Others have mentioned her laugh. That’s also the thing I remember most about her. That and her adventurous spirit . . . ready to try just about anything. We were close friends for only a very few years during and after late high school and reconnected while she was in Korea. When I talked to her then, it was like no time at all had passed, even though it was probably 40 years. She was still the joyful, fun-loving person I knew. Deepest condolences to her family and all who knew her.

I send all my love and sympathy to Cheri’s wonderful family. She was my roommate, favorite person, and her presence was very calming. She made me laugh so much. Talking to her was definitely never boring. She loved each and every one of you so much. Her love will never die. It will be with you forever. Now Cheri I love and will miss you my friend. Be at peace now, your pain is gone.
