Obituary of Carol Beard
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Carol Beard on October 3, 2023, at the age of 76. Carol was a beloved wife to the late James. Cherished mother to her children: Jim (Sarah), Stacey (the late Ben) , and David (Elaine). Carol's unwavering love and guidance were the foundation upon which her children built their lives. As a proud and adored Nana, Carol brought boundless love and joy to her grandchildren: Jaden, Luka, Sage, Cameron, and Evan. She was a dear sister to Sandy (the late Don) Johnstone and a sister-in-law to Gwenda (the late Arthur) Marsh. She will also be remembered by nieces Tricia, Debbie, and nephew Scott, and their families. Predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Margaret. Carol's memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her.Carol dedicated herself to a successful career as a Real Estate agent in the Niagara Region for over two decades, beginning her career with Salci Real Estate and later working for Century 21. Upon retirement, Carol embarked on a new chapter in her life, returning to school where she proudly earned her certificate as an Aesthetician. Her talents shone brightly as she shared her expertise at a spa in Fort Erie for many years. Carol had a zest for life that extended beyond her professional pursuits. She found joy in simple pleasures, like playing cards, cribbage, and euchre, and had an insatiable love for reading. Annual trips to the casino with her mom and sister were a cherished birthday tradition, creating lasting memories. She loved dancing and liked to travel, and especially enjoyed visiting her children in Australia.
What truly defined Carol was her kind and loving nature. She also had a wonderful sense of humour that endured even until the end, bringing smiles and laughter to those fortunate enough to be in her company. Her big smile could warm up an entire room, and her personable and outgoing nature made her easy to talk to and helped her forge lasting friendships wherever she went. Carol's ability to make friends easily was a testament to her warm and welcoming spirit. She had a gift for connecting with people, and her genuine compassion made her a trusted confidant to many.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at the Grand Canal Retirement Residence for their exceptional care.
