Obituary of Carmelita Samala Co
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Carmelita Samala Co on February 3, 2026, in Niagara Falls, Ontario.Carmelita was a loving mother to her children Ben-Hur (Kitty) Co, Carlito (Teresa) Co, Oscar Jr. (Sharon) Co, Carmina (pre-deceased), and Charina Co. She was a proud grandmother to Christopher Co, Christian Co, Cherileigh Co, and Jennifer Co, and a beloved grandma to her grand-dog, Snowball Co.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 30 years, Oscar V. Co, with whom she shared a life filled with love, devotion, and family.
Carmelita will be remembered as a beautiful, loving, selfless, and joyful woman whose warmth touched everyone she met. She was kind, welcoming, forgiving, generous, and always put the needs of others before her own. Her positive spirit and gentle presence brought comfort and happiness to those around her.
She had a love for music and baking. She found great joy in sharing meals with family and friends. Some of her favorite foods included Pancit Malabon, Turon, and Lumpiang Sariwa, which will forever hold special meaning for those who gathered around the table.
Carmelita’s love, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered, always.
In keeping with Carmelita's wishes, visitation will be held at Essentials Cremation and Burial Services, 4300 Drummond Road, Niagara Falls, on Wednesday, February 18 and Thursday, February 19, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will follow at Our Lady of the Scapular Church, 6557 Thorold Stone Road, Niagara Falls, on Friday, February 20, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. Following the Mass, the family will be holding a reception at the church hall. Cremation is to follow.

We are deeply saddened by the loss of Aunt Carmeling. She guided me when I was growing up and was instrumental getting me through high school and college.
