Obituary of Carlos Jose Vega "Pepe"

Carlos Jose Pepe, beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away on June 24, 2024, at the age of 75, with Ana Gloria, his devoted wife and the love of his life, by his side. Pepe will be lovingly remembered by his children, grandchildren, mother-in-law and siblings. He was predeceased by his beloved parents, whom he treasured in his memory until his dying day. There is comfort in knowing that he is now reunited with them.

Pepe was born in Guatemala in 1949, where his adventurous spirit and love for the outdoors were evident from a young age. Pepe was a true cowboy from birth; it was in his blood and was a way of life for him. He was riding horses by the tender age of four months, and spent many years working at cattle ranches in Guatemala. Pepe was also a renowed bullrider, and was admired for his fearlessness, which he displayed in all areas of his life.

Pepe will be fondly remembered for his kindness, unwavering sense of humour, and positive outlook on life. He approached every challenge with grace and never failed to find joy in the simple pleasures, such as rowing on calm waters or capturing the beauty of winter and fall through his photography. He will be truly missed by all those who knew him.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A visitation for Pepe will be held at Essentials Cremation and Burial Services, 221 Division Street in Welland on Saturday, July 6 from 2-4 p.m.
