Obituary of Butch Carson

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Butch Carson on January 3, 2022 in Niagara Falls, Ontario. He will be forever missed by his adoring wife of 32 years, Beverly (née Muir); always cherished by his children: Brenda Lee, Marty (Sherry), Kerri and Jason (Mariela), his grandchildren Curtis and Keaton Carson and Caleigh Crawford. Fondly remembered by his sisters, Marlene Seinen (Rick) and Lou Soles (Gord), sister in law's Jacki Carson, Marilyn, Linda (Ralph), Naurene, and Gloria (Dave) as well as many nieces and nephews.

Butch is predeceased by his parents Ruby (1987) and John Carson (1975), his siblings Grant Carson (2013) and Joan Jenkins (2016).

Butch was born in Welland, Ontario but moved to Nova Scotia to briefly join the Navy. He then found his way back to the Niagara Region where he enjoyed employment at General Motors of Canada until his retirement. After he retired, he joined the team at Student First to drive a school bus because he just adored children. Butch kept himself busy. He was always creating or "banging nails" as he would say! His greatest love was always music. As a young man he played drums & stand up bass in a band with his brother, Grant. But he went on to play rhythm guitar and his antique Fender bass for years. And he always sang! Not just while on stage but everywhere, everyday. His heroes have always been cowboys but Merle Haggard was always his favorite. He didn’t just play music, he embodied it. And nobody loved people more than Butch. He acknowledged every person he ever met including every checkout clerk or people he would meet on the street. A man who truly had a smile for everyone. Butch and Beverly enjoyed 4 years being "snowbirds" in Mexico.
He is already missed and we will always love you morther.

The family would like to send a sincere thank you to the nursing staff at GNGH for their care and compassion. In keeping with Butch's wishes, cremation has taken place. Arrangements have been entrusted to Essentials Cremation and Burial Services (905 354 2133) A celebration of his life will be held in the summertime. If desired, donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by his family.

Fred and I are both saddened to hear of Butch’s passing and send our deepest condolences to his family-Bev, Brenda Lee, Marty, and all the rest. He was loved by so many, and we always enjoyed listening to him singing his songs at open mic. He was so very friendly and welcomed newbies into the group of musicians who gathered on a regular basis to pick and grin. RIP Butch. You’ll be missed.

Bev and all Butches family:
Our sinceriest condolences on your loss. Butch and our family go way back but more recently we reconnected through Edie and Butch driving school bus together. We spent so many nights with him having pot lucks and singing and playing. We also spent many nights going to listen to him play at different venues. We all loved that man so much. I’m sure he has found Grant by now and they are singing for all the other angels. He will always be remembered!
Love from Brenda. Dale, Erica Harris and Jessica Pettit.

I have many fond memories of Butch years and years ago when I was a little person and we would attend the Carson residence for jam sessions! My Dad (Rene Arsenault) always loved jamming with Butch and the clan and I am sure he is welcoming you in heaven with guitar and microphone in hand! Rest easy Butch.
