Obituary of Bryce Douglas Ort
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bryce Douglas Ort on August 28 in Niagara Falls. Bryce will be deeply missed by his cherished wife of 60 years Patricia (Carroll) and his son Kevin(Carol). Bryce was a proud Grandfather to Catherine (Brent) and Laura. He will be lovingly remembered by his great grandchildren Kyran, Grayson and Logan. Bryce was also survived by his two brothers Lorne and Aubrey.
In his working years Bryce owned and worked in the lumber industry, which created his passion for woodworking and tinkering on projects around the family home. Bryce was a proud member of the LBMAO, where he once served as president. He was also a member of the Kinsmen. In his younger years Bryce found solace tending to his vegetable gardens, hobby farm and the family dogs.
Bryce and Patricia shared a close friendship with 5 other couples, and together they called themselves “the dirty dozen” creating lasting memories with laughter and joy.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place, and a private service will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Essentials Cremation and Burial Services in Niagara Falls, Ontario. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association in Bryce’s memory.

Pat and family – it is with sadness we learn of Bryce’s passing. May your happy memories of him console you in your time of loss and mourning.
I enjoyed working with Bryce at Fort Erie Buildall until I moved to Barrie. Condolences to his family and friends.
First of all, I offer my sincere condolences to Pat and Kevin and Bryce’s brothers. I met Bryce in 1974, when I was hired to work at Sangster Lumber. We worked together for a few years until he moved to Fort Erie Do it. After Sangster’s closed, Bryce offered me a job in Fort Erie. I didn’t take him up on his offer, as I had a few other offers at the same time, however, we remained in touch for many years, and he supplied what I needed when I built my home 38 years ago. I, also had a lumber business in Fort Erie for many years, and we kept in touch. Unfortunately, we lost touch when he retired, but reconnected during the pandemic. Unfortunately, due to the restrictions at the time, we never had a chance to get together as we had talked about. He would see my wife at the bakery quite often, and our greetings to each other occurred through her. Bryce, RIP my friend.
Please accept our sincere sympathy of your loss of Bryce. We were next door neighbors for over 30 yrs & couldn’t have ask for a nicer neighbor. Many nice memories.
Bryce was a good man. I worked with him many years ago and found him in so many ways to be the type of man I should become. Please accept my sincere condolences
