Obituary of Bruce Benner

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Bruce Benner in the early hours of Saturday, March 26, 2022 at the age of 73 in Port Colborne. Left to mourn this loss is his only surviving sibling, his brother Wayne (Debra). Bruce was greeted on the other side by his parents, Verne and Olive, his brothers Bob (Adeline) and Gord (Shirley) and his sister Sharon (Walter) Johnson.

Bruce enjoyed over 20 years of employment with Ramey Bend Stone Dock and retired in 2000. He loved to fish for walleye in Lake Erie and camping at Byng Island in the summer months. He was a sports fan and cheered for the Toronto Blue Jays as well as the Maple Leafs.

In keeping with Bruce's wishes, cremation has taken place. Arrangements have been entrusted with Essentials Cremation and Burial Services (905 734 1031). The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the staff at Northland Pointe for their care and compassion over the many years that Bruce was with them.

If desired, donations in Bruce's memory may be made to The Juravinski Cancer Centre or to McMaster Children's Hospital.

We are so saddened to hear of Uncle Bruce’s passing. He was a cherished uncle full of life, energy and stories in his younger years. I am strengthened to know he is now pain free and spending eternity with his family on the other side.
