In Loving Memory of
Bridget Ann Jesso
1952-2021
Obituary of Bridget Ann Jesso
With her hands warmly held with love and her favourite Christmas music playing in the room, Bridget peacefully passed away surrounded by her family on Sunday, November 28, 2021, at the age of 69. A beloved mother, she will always be remembered by her children: Richard (Gina), Sherleen, Philip Linehan and Keysha. Nanny’s Girls; Bianca, Brianna, Brielle, and boys; Nash and Foster, will cherish their memories and the special bond that they shared with their Nanny. She will be greatly missed by her siblings: Roddie (Mildred), Nigel (Lydia), Emmanuel (Edith), Morris, Roy, Barb, Veronica. Bridget will be lovingly remembered by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Annie May and Emmanuel.Bridget was born in Cape St. George, Newfoundland. With her mom passing away at a young age, she adapted a motherly role helping raise and care for her siblings. This role came naturally to her and when she had her own children, she was the most loving, supportive, and understanding mother a child could ever ask for.
Some might say she was a little stubborn, Bridget was typically easy going, always giving of her time, and never shied away from lending a hand to help. She often used her own slang, and we’ll remember her tone as she would often say, “That’s me!”, “Oh Well” or “What a sin”; or how she would have special nicknames for her loved ones; Sweetie, Marge or Nanny’s Girls.
Some of her favourite things were flowers (which she loved), collecting knick-knacks and setting them up using her own particular style, word searches and all jewellery. Christmas was her favourite time of year and she enjoyed watching Hallmark Christmas movies. She was quite active and kept busy going for walks and biking. Her most favourite pastime was playing a game of cards with her family, eating snacks and enjoying a Coors Light (or the occasional Baby Duck).
Her pretty eyes, smile and ability to make you laugh are ways that she showed her love for us. She was a mother to everyone and will be missed and loved by all who knew her.
Fifteen years ago, she beat cancer, but it came back for a third time. Bridget was well supported throughout her journey and was beyond grateful for the Walker Family Cancer Centre, who made her stay comfortable, and recently for her nurses and palliative care team for their compassionate care and support.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted with Essentials Cremation and Burial Services (905-354-2133). In accordance with Bridget’s wishes a private family gathering was held and cremation has taken place. Bridget moved to Niagara four years ago, but the East Coast will always be her home. An interment will be held at Fairview Cemetery at a later date. A part of her will be brought back home to Newfoundland. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be given to the Walker Family Cancer Centre.

My heart goes out to all of you in the passing of your loved one. In my eyes she was a hero. that took on the responsibility as a very young girl to care for all her
siblings on her mom’s passing and did it with great pride and love. I visited her years ago at her home in Stephenville, it was so vibrant, colorful and so full of love. I could tell she loved life.
May God give all of you courage and strength during this very difficult time and may wonderful memories keep your heart warm and a smile on your faces.
May she rest in peace. Love you all.
You will always be in my heart and on my mind my dearest Godchild.
You will be missed,
Condolences to your family and friends.
Love always,
Godmother, Bridget
