Obituary of Brian Carr

A reserved, proper, and gentlemanly figure, passed away at his home on Thursday, April 13th, 2023, at the age of 80. He was the loving husband of Marie for 60 years and the greatest father to David(Mandy) and Richard (Shirley). He was an amazing Grandad to Joseph, Bradley, Jessica, Noah, and Hailey and a Great-Grandad to four. Brian was also a generous and patient man, a beloved brother to Carol Brummitt, and will be missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, friends, and his beloved fur baby Chloe. He was predeceased by his parents Ethel and Fred. Brian was born in Sheffield, England, where he met and married the love of his life and other half, Marie. The couple moved to Canada with their little family in 1974. Brian was a reserved man, but his warmth and kindness shone through whenever he was around his loved ones. He was a proper gentleman, treating everyone with respect and dignity, and his generosity knew no bounds. He was known for his patience, always taking the time to listen and lend a helping hand. Brian had a passion for model trains, planes, and automobiles, and was interested in any history on WWII as he served in the Territorial Reserve for 8 years in England. He enjoyed chatting over coffee with his friend Ben and going on drives on his Honda Motorbike. His kind heart, warm smile, and positive attitude will be missed by all who knew him. He will be forever remembered for his unwavering love and devotion to his family, his passion for his hobbies, and his dedication to his country. A special thank you to the Ward and Berry families for all your love and care during Brian’s illness. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. Arrangements are entrusted to Essentials Cremation and Burial Services A Celebration of Life will be held at the family home on Saturday, April 29, 2023 from 2-5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society, The Niagara Humane Society or to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
