Obituary of Beverly Ann Turchin (Waters)

18 July 1936 - 27 January 2021

Beverly Ann Turchin (nee Waters) of St. Catharines, Ontario passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 27th 2021 at The Salvation Army Eventide Home, Niagara Falls in her 84th year. Beverly is survived by her brother George Waters (Elizabeth), her two sons Stanley George Janes (Diane), James Arthur Janes (Janice), her two step children John Daniel Turchin (Lucie) and Joanna Turchin (Kieran), as well as nine grandchildren (Errin, Jolene, Kim, Liane, Stephanie, Ryan, Patrick, Jason, Kerie), fourteen great-grandchildren (Liam, Emily, Adam, Kaylie, Josie, Naomi, Stella, Caitlyn, Sarah, Allan, Nathan, Alison, Daniel, Lydia), nephews and nieces whom she loved dearly.

Beverly will be remembered for her quick witt and humor. In her final days, she would tell you that "her work here is done" or that "she received a call, a sort of an offer you can't refuse for an appointment from which she will not be returning." And like the words of one of her favourite Tom Jones' song, "Yes, they'll all come to meet me, arms reaching, smiling sweetly. It's good to touch the green, green grass of home".

The family would like to extend it's sincere appreciation to the staff at Eventide Home for their love, care and devotion over the past few years and especially in these last days. They would also like to thank the staff at the Heatherwood Retirement Residence (formerly St. Catharines Place Retirement Residence) for the years of care they provided from 2009 to 2018.

In accordance to her wishes, cremation has taken place and arrangements are entrusted through Essentials Cremation and Burial Services. There will be no service at this time, and a Celebration of her Life will be scheduled at a later date.

The family would appreciate memorial donations be given to the Eventide Home (under the donation tab).

Sending you our Very Sincere Condolences. Bev hired me right out of high school and was my mentor for more years than I want to admit to. She was there for so many important times in my life. When we married (52j) years ago Bev made our Wedding cake. When we bought our house she and John were there to help us move. Bridal shower, Birthday Parties, Christmas, New Years. Needless to say she will be missed.

In loving memory ...
I/we pledge to make a memorial donation.

Sincere condolences to Jim, Stan and families and George, Liz and family on the passing of your mother and sister. My memories of Bev are of a happy, no nonsense caring person who I know my Mom enjoyed spending time with especially in July when they celebrated their July birthdays. It doesn’t surprise me that near the end of her life she joked about being ready to pass on. May she Rest In Peace.

To Jim, Stand and Families of Bev having your mom as part of our Eventide family will certainly be memorable because of her wit and the way she was with us and dancing to the music she loved. She will certainly be missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this time.
