Obituary of Gilberte "Betty" Beauregard

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of Gilberte "Betty" Beauregard, surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, July 20, 2024. Born to Cléophas and Marie Ange Laurin on January 11, 1933, in Buckingham, Quebec, Betty lived a life filled with love, laughter, and dedication to her family.

Betty is predeceased by her beloved son Mario (1980), daughter Ginette (2024), and granddaughter Jennifer Audrey (2020), and four brothers and one sister. She is survived by her devoted husband of 71 years, Jean (John), who stood by her side through all of life's joys and challenges. Betty also leaves behind her cherished children: Lise (Michael) Pritchard, Daniel (Deb), Fernand (Mindy), Ferrier, Pierre, and Colette. Her legacy continues through her 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

As the youngest of six children, Betty moved to Ontario in the early 1950s to pursue a working career. It was there, while waitressing in Port Colborne, that she met the love of her life, Jean. Together, they built a family, raising eight children with unwavering love and care. Betty took immense pride in her role as a housewife and mother, always ensuring her home was a place of warmth and comfort.

Betty's talents were many; she was an avid crocheter and knitter, and often found engrossed in a book. She enjoyed playing cards in her younger years and had a passion for dancing. Wintertime held a special charm for her, as she always found beauty in the sparkling snow. Known for her humour and playful spirit, Betty brought joy and laughter to those around her, often through her good-natured jokes at her children's expense.

Betty's love for her family was boundless, and her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her joyful spirit and loving nature have left an indelible mark on the hearts of her family and friends.

In keeping with Betty’s wishes, cremation has taken place and arrangements have been entrusted to Essentials Cremation and Burial Services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Alzheimer Society of Canada in Betty's memory.
