Obituary of Bernice Grimo

It is with profound gratitude, pride and so much love that we share The Dash of Bernice Grimo (Neault) Price Shackleton; April 1, 1939 - January 19, 2024. That little wee dash, my gosh what it represents!

Bernice was Born in Niagara Falls, Ontario April 1st 1939, Frank Breech because she never took the easy way out. Bernice was a proud Graduate of the Mack School of Nursing, Class of 1959.

Survived by her husband, Ernie Grimo and Her children, Allan Price (Lilly), Heather Price and Bruce Price (Karen) Proud Grandma & Kokum, to Shannon, Cheyenne, Amber, Richard, Roy, Ben and Luke Etherington and Jacob Price. Great Grandma & Kokum to CJ, Skiltuu and Mason. Bernice was devoted to her family and enjoyed every minute she had with them. Bernice is also survived by several very special nieces, nephews and so many blended grands she truly embraced and cherished.

Bernice was fortunate to have lived several lives within her lifetime. Bernice made her dreams a reality. From raising a family with her husband Bruce, to later opening her own very successful dog grooming business, the first of its kind in St. Catharines. A nursing career that took her from hospitals and home care all the way underground into the salt mines of Goderich. A mission trip to Africa and an Israeli Pilgrimage. Nothing was too much, to try or to give. Her dream of living on a farm with all the animals in nature was realized with her 2nd husband Bill Shackleton (2006), a period in life that Bernice cherished always. The Shackleton era was a chapter of blessings and love, still felt to this day. In 2009 Bernice was awarded The Order Of St John award for outstanding volunteer contributions.

In 2011, Bernice was again blessed with true love, marrying her devoted husband and best friend Ernie on his beautiful Nut Farm in Niagara-on-the-Lake. Our family grew by a few pretty amazing nuts that year, Bernice got even more kids and grands, celebrating Bernice with us are Linda Grimo, Cheryl Grimo (Rob), Joanne Johnson (Don), Andrew Grimo (Carla) and their children, Alex, Ryan, Nathan, Matt, Molly, DJ, Julia, Kiara, Aldera and Edward.

As requested, an immediate, private, organic burial. Our family invites you to celebrate this soul's incredible journey with us on Saturday, January 27, 2024, between 1-4pm at the Grantham Optimist Club, 188 Linwell Rd. St. Catharines.
