Obituary of Anna Nancy Tanner

With profound sadness, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family, Anna Nancy Tanner (née Lock) left this world to be reunited with her beloved husband of 68 years, Cecil Tanner (2023), her parents John and Theresa Lock (née Dorner), her son Jeffrey, great-grandson Alexander, daughter-in-law Melissa. Left here to carry on her legacy are her devoted children Mark, Sandra Flexhaug (Ken), Wendy Sentineal (Bob), Linda Haday (Murray), Annette Keilhau (Steve) and Amy Whitaker (Ron), her cherished grandchildren, Troy (Carrie), Sonya (Dean), Charlotte (Neil), Luke, Ingrid (Jeff), Emily (Johnny), Lydia (Wilkins), Kyle (Brittany), Cory, Curtis, Connor (Sila), Kaitlin (Rob), Kayla (Elisha), Mackenzi, Ellie (Tony), Rachael (Matthew), Ryan (Christina) and Reid (Carli), her adored great grandchildren Gryphon, Greta, Olivia, Erik, Ava, Lexi, Korbin, Henry, Oliver, Grace, Jack, Gabriel, Sebastian, Evangeline, Indie, Isla, Remi, Jude and Georgia "Peach".

Anna was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, and her memory will be cherished by all who knew her.

Anna found joy in the simple things in life. She loved watching curling, hockey, and Hallmark movies, often losing herself in the excitement of her favorite shows. She enjoyed relaxing with a word search, camping in the great outdoors, and listening to classic country music. Anna took great pride in caring for her home and children, and she was always the gracious hostess for family dinners or her beloved "IP Party's," where there was always enough food for everyone.

She had a special bond with her husband, Cecil. Together, they would sit on the front porch, watching the birds and the neighborhood go by. A daily ritual in the summer months was placing the wooden planes that Mark and Cecil created out in the yard, always with a specific spot for each.

As a nurturer, Anna was not just a mother, but a best friend to her daughters, providing them with a sense of home and unwavering support. She took great pride in the achievements of her grandchildren and was always deeply interested in their lives and hobbies. Anna was organized, coordinated, and had an eye for the details, always keeping her home filled with knick-knacks that brought her joy. Anna was known for "holding court" in every family gathering, and this lively, loving trait has been passed down to her great-granddaughter, Georgia.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place. Arrangements have been entrusted to Essentials Cremation and Burial Services. If desired, in Anna’s memory, donations to her chosen charity, the A.L.S. Society of Canada would be appreciated by the family.
