Obituary of Andrzej “Andy” Czyrny

Passed away on May 10, 2023, at the age of 66, after a long battle with cancer. He will be deeply missed by his wife, Elzbieta, his daughter, Anna (John), and grandson, Eddie. He leaves behind his extended family in Poland, including his sisters, Mariola and Alicja, along with his nieces, nephews, and many cousins. Andy had a gregarious personality and a wonderful sense of humour that earned him many lifelong friends who became like family throughout the years. Upon meeting Andy, you would be greeted with a joke and a handshake. He even went to his oncology appointments with a positive attitude and an appreciative joke ready for his care team. Andy spent most of his free time travelling, hiking, camping, and cross-country skiing. He had apassion for photography and woodworking and could often be found in his garage handcrafting cutting boards and live edge tables. In keeping with Andy’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and a private funeral services will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Walker Family Cancer Centre (WFCC), where Andy received care.
