Obituary of Allyson Elizabeth "Beth" Bower

Bower, Allyson Elizabeth "Beth"
May 8, 1955 – November 7, 2022

It is with great sorrow that we announce the untimely passing of a wonderful wife, mother, Nana and friend. Leaving behind a devastated family: husband and best friend of over 50 years Tom, daughter Jill, grandsons Joshy and Lukey, sister Heather, nephews Chris (Sheryl) and Jeremy and extended family. Predeceased by her parents Dr. Bruce A. Liberty and Grace Liberty, and sister Jan Liberty.

Beth worked for many years in the automotive industry where she made so many friends along the way. These were friendships that would last a lifetime. She was so knowledgeable and a hard worker, who genuinely cared for her colleagues like extended family.

Beth loved spending time with her family, puttering around in her gardens, and “buggering off to Cuba” at every opportunity. Beth loved cars and motorcycles; she had only in the last year given up her Suzuki GSX-R in favour of her ‘zippy car’ Firebird. She and Tom attended dirt track racing all over Southern Ontario and into the States as a favourite pastime.

Beth dearly loved her grandsons, “her boys”, Joshy and Lukey. In return, they adored her and felt that she was the most amazing Nana any little boy could wish for. They will miss her every day.

A special thank you to the emergency first responders, the Hamilton General ICU care team and the Trillium Gift of Life Nurses, Lauren and Kathryn. They were all so kind and caring to our family. Our family will go on, but we will forever have a hole left in our hearts from the loss. In keeping with her wishes, she will be an organ donor through Trillium Gift of Life. Two people will be helped because of her generosity. A private cremation has taken place, and there will be no funeral service, at the family’s request, in keeping with Beth’s wishes. Arrangements have been entrusted with Essentials Cremation and Burial Services (905-354-2133). In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in her memory to the Niagara Health Foundation.
