Obituary of Alice Sherk (Nee Willick)
A beautiful lady has been welcomed into the gates of Heaven. On March 1, 2025, Alice Sherk (nee Willick), in her 97th year, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family. Alice was a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt and friend. Her smile and her gentle spirit will be greatly missed by all who knew her.Alice celebrated her 96th birthday on January 23, 2025. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 60 years, Jim Sherk as well as her siblings Doris, Eileen, Meril, Francis, Lester, Ronald, Joseph and Victor. Alice was the devoted mother to Louanne (Michael) Kelley, Ken Sherk, Doug (Sheryl) Sherk, Karen Sherk, and Beth Sherk. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Michael (Stephanie), Scott (Lindsay), Christopher, Darryl (Melanie), Rachel (Rick), Teressa (Shawn), John (Melissa), Rebecca, Sarah (Adrian), Claudia, and Nathan. Alice was also an adoring great-grandmother to Jake, Jem, Alyssa, James, Scotty, Ada, Madison, Lila, Cadence, Gage, Noah, Abigail, William, Thomas,Thomas, and Bodie. She is survived by her dear brother Louie Willick, sister Gloria Campbell, sister-in-law Heather Sherk, many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. Alice's warmth, kindness, humour and generosity will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A woman of incredible strength, Alice’s life was rooted in her faith and her love for family. She grew up with 5 brothers and 3 sisters. After losing her mother at the age of 13, Alice stepped up to help her wonderful father on the farm and help care for her youngest siblings. Alice volunteered for various organizations over the years and was a proud and dedicated member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Snyder. She was an integral part of the Catholic Women's League helping with rummage sales, lawn socials, euchre nights and many other functions and events.
The family would like to thank Dr. Dan Dargavel and Dr. Othniel Adebayo for all their care and compassion towards Alice. In accordance with Alice’s wishes, cremation has taken place. During her full and appreciative life Alice thoroughly enjoyed many gifts of bouquets & plants and she shared that she would prefer not to have an abundance at her funeral. Instead the family asks that you share flowers with someone in Alice’s memory in the spirit of spreading God’s beauty everywhere. Alice’s Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 3718 Netherby Rd, Stevensville, ON, on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at 10 am followed by a private family Inurnment.

Alice was the nicest person you could ever of met. She had a smile of gold. She was very kind to everyone. Our deepest condolences to all who knew and loved Alice.

Dear Louanne, Mike, Beth, Gloria Mike, Steph, Jake, Jem and all your family. I was so sorry to hear of Alice”s passing. What a wonderful lady she was. All the times I was in her company she always made me feel so welcome. I know her faith was so important to her and she will always be in your hearts and looking down on all of you. My sweet great Aunt Alice- I will forever remember the profound impact she had on my life as a young girl on black creek. Her laughter, her cherry pies, the long chats by the crik, and the way she inspired my faith and love for music.

I’m so sorry to learn of Alice’s passing. Wow 96! Good for her! Such a fun, happy loving lady. Just looking at her reminds me of all the fun times Danny and I had bowling with her and Jim and Stan and Ann Irene. Memories are so great! Off to join the rest of the Gang. ♥️♥️
