Obituary of Alan (Al) Douglas Whipple "Whip"

We sadly announce that on Thursday, November 28, 2024 Alan "Al" Douglas Whipple (A.K.A Whip), passed away peacefully at the NHS-Niagara Falls Site at the age of 67. He has been reunited with his wife Darlene Clayton (2009) and father KayeDon Whipple. His memory will be forever cherished by his loving mother Jean, his partner Joyce Sahs, his step-daughters Carrie Ballah, Robin Ballah and Mikal Ballah as well as Joyce's children; Holly Sahs (Matt) and Helena Sahs-Jones (Chris). He was affectionately known as Grandpa Al to Nicole and Michael, a dear brother to Susan Hosick and uncle to Danielle and Shawn. He will be terribly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him but especially his dear friends Brad and Trinity.

He was known for his quick wit, infectious sense of humor, and love of life. Whether telling a joke or pulling a lighthearted prank, his charm and charisma made everyone around him smile. He had a unique ability to brighten any room and connect with people from all walks of life. His playful nature and fun-loving spirit will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
An accomplished hockey player, Whip's skill on the ice was undeniable, and many believed he had the potential to go pro. However, his heart led him in a different direction. He lived life on his own terms, always choosing the path that brought him the most joy and fulfillment. Whip's passion for sports and his competitive nature remained a defining part of who he was, even after he hung up his skates.
Whip loved being around friends and family and was known to put out a spread of the best food and drink. He was a true entertainer, always making sure that everyone around him felt welcome and well-fed.

His family would like to send their sincere thanks to nurses Tina and Sylvia in I.C.U and Jessica in E.R. for their care and compassion during Whip's stay.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place.
