Obituary of Al Laurin

In the early morning hours of September 29, 2022 at the Greater Niagara General Hospital we said goodbye to our Dad, Grandpa, brother and friend. John Larry Allan Laurin, known to most as Al or Alley Cat, left us after a very brief illness. Left here to learn how to live without his presence are his children; Tina Laurin-Miron (Cory Dalziel), John Laurin (Laura Maiden), James Laurin (Amanda) and Simon Laurin (Crystal), his grandchildren; Somer-Daye Duncan (Zoe), Melody Laurin, Daeton Doucette, Julia Laurin and Dawson Laurin, his brothers Edward Laurin, Herman Laurin and sisters Marion Latanville and Doreen Laurin, his fur-grandbabies; Luci, Lugg, Lenore, Max and Frankie. He was welcomed home by his parents Simeon and Ernestine, his brother Bob, his sisters Elda and Lorraine, brother-in-law Alvin and his sister-in-law Dorothy and his fur-grandbaby Blue.

Al lived a life of adventure. He was a very social man at times but he was also just fine in his own company enjoying the many lyrics of any Beatles or Bob Dylan tunes. He loved his music. He had many jobs and held many titles in his time here with us but of all the titles he held Dad, Daddy, Faja, Grandpa and Papa were the ones he was most proud of.

He was a true animal lover and had a way with them. Any stray around would not have to worry about a warm, safe spot to sleep or where their next meal was coming from after meeting Al. He had a heart of gold, was very giving of his time and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Al will be terribly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him but especially by his amazing and lifelong friends Gary, Paul and Tony.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place. Arrangements have been entrusted to Essentials Cremation and Burial Services (905-354-2133). A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at 1:30 p.m in LaFontaine Cemetery 327 LaFontaine Road W, Tiny, ON where he will be laid to rest alongside his family.
